Chuck Throckmorton, Conductor/Music Director
Originally from Florida, Chuck grew up in the Midwest earning a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa. Chuck also holds a Master of Arts from Stephen F. Austin State University, where he held an adjunct faculty position in the School of Music. Chuck moved with his family to Houston in 1989 to become the Assistant Band Director for the Shepherd Independent School District. After directing bands at both the St. Thomas and Episcopal High Schools in the Houston area, Chuck became Director of Bands at Rice University. Chuck plays French Horn with The Houston Brass, as well as other professional ensembles in the area. He has also served as the Principal Horn of the Pasadena Philharmonic.
Marcos Fuentes, Associate Director
Mark is a Houston-based musician specializing in bass and low brass. Since joining HCB in 2019, he has played euphonium and trombone, while also serving as a board member and low brass section leader.
A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, Mark has directed band, choir, and orchestra at HISD and Harmony Public Schools. He is currently a show director and bass instructor at School of Rock Sugar Land.
In his free time, Mark enjoys being a Dungeon Master for Dungeons & Dragons, spending time with his three beautiful daughters, and cavorting with his delightful wife.
